Assistant Director, Philanthropy and Fundraising

About the role

The NTU University Advancement Office (UAO) supports the University's giving mission by building relationships with philanthropists, alumni, business partners, corporations, foundations and friends. It is seeking a highly motivated person to join the Major Gifts team, working on major gifts, capital fundraising, corporate donations, grants and bequests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships and activities around cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and major gifts to maximise philanthropic outcomes.
• Take a strategic approach to fundraising covering major gifts, capital fundraising, corporate donations, grants and bequests.
• Leverage university leadership, faculty and volunteers, together with other UAO colleagues, to advance relationships and gift discussions so partners give at their maximum level.
• Lead and facilitate gift structuring to optimise the donor's purpose, close gifts and work with the UAO Stewardship Team to move donors to higher levels of giving.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Preferred: experience in higher education or not-for-profit fundraising with the ability to hit monthly activity targets; business development or consultative sales experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, diverse relationships and collaborating with many stakeholders.
• Proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with donors, faculty, staff and others at all levels.
• Excellent written communication, planning and organisation, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving team.
• Sensitivity to diverse stakeholders, a global and socially conscious mindset, and the ability to influence without authority.
