Assistant Director/Associate, Investment Intermediaries (Contract)

About the role

This is a 1-year contract position within a team responsible for supervising investment intermediaries. As a member of the supervision team, you will carry out firm-specific risk assessments and thematic or industry-wide analyses to evaluate the conduct of intermediaries and identify emerging trends or risks that affect the objective of fostering safe and sound intermediaries that conduct their business fairly and transparently.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the conduct of investment intermediaries through firm-specific risk assessments and thematic or industry-wide analyses.
• Develop a good understanding of intermediaries' operations, risk management practices and conduct-related risks and mitigating measures.
• Keep up with new developments and business models in the investment management industry.
• Assess the effectiveness of intermediaries' risk management frameworks and internal controls, and the adequacy of their market conduct practices.

Required profile

• Good working knowledge of the funds and asset management industry and applicable regulations.
• Prior working experience in the regulatory, financial or audit industry is preferred.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team, and to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong background in data analytics, with the ability to identify and present key risk insights on a short timeline.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
