Assistant Electrical Engineer – Submarine (Changi)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support submarine and vessel electrical systems at our Changi site. The role involves hands‑on fault diagnosis, maintenance and team leadership in a marine environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and perform fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and maintenance of power systems and components in workshops and onboard vessels.
• Liaise with internal departments and clients to expedite work scope.
• Lead a team of electricians in corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Prepare work completion reports for customer acceptance.
• Carry out maintenance in line with vessel safety requirements.
• Conduct in‑depth troubleshooting of electrical connections and PLC programs.
• Coordinate with vendors, conduct design reviews and maintain documentation according to ISO quality standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2‑5 years of experience in marine or oil & gas electrical engineering (candidates with no experience may also apply).
• Experience handling 440 V main switchboards, distribution boards, transformers, generators, main engines, converters, inverter batteries, fire‑alarm and flooding systems, and ship control monitoring & management systems.
• Ability to work onboard vessels and at heights.
• Leadership experience managing up to six technicians and supervisors.
• Strong report‑writing and teamwork skills.

• Stepper and servo motor control.
• Control system configuration.
• Power supply unit integration.
