Assistant Maintenance Manager (Food Manufacturing / Edible Oils)

About the role

The Assistant Maintenance Manager will support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring high equipment reliability and minimal production downtime within a food manufacturing plant that produces edible oils.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance of processing equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, piping and packaging machinery.
• Maintain plant utilities including boilers, steam, cooling towers, compressed air, chilled water and water‑treatment systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, monitor equipment performance and manage work orders through a CMMS.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Supervise engineers, technicians, contractors and vendors, allocate resources and provide technical coaching.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, HACCP, ISO and other food‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in edible‑oil refineries, food manufacturing, chemical, FMCG or similar process industries.
• Ability to work closely with production teams to maintain stable plant operations.

Required skills

• CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) usage.
• Preventive maintenance planning.
• Predictive maintenance techniques.
