Assistant Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

This position leads daily production operations in a manufacturing environment, ensuring delivery, quality, productivity and efficiency targets are met. The role combines team leadership, continuous improvement, cost control and safety oversight to drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily production to achieve delivery, quality, productivity and efficiency goals.
• Lead, develop and engage production teams to attain high performance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost OEE, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and pinpoint opportunities for productivity and cost reductions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Drive quality improvement activities to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Ensure timely material availability, accurate inventory control and efficient resource utilisation.
• Maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance with WSH regulations and safety policies.
• Analyse and report production performance, KPIs and operational improvements.
• Plan, execute and evaluate audit programmes, including stocktake, to ensure internal controls and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in any engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
• Strong analytical, planning, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Normal colour vision.
