Assistant Manager, Procurement

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager – Procurement to join the NSS Procurement team at Nanyang Technological University. The role works closely with multiple schools and departments, driving procurement improvements and supporting operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities, including requests for information, quotations and proposals, from planning through contract award.
• Review and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, governance and service delivery.
• Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation and contract negotiations to achieve value for money.
• Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct spend analysis to identify consolidation and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure all procurement activities and contracts comply with university policies and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal users and external suppliers.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of relevant procurement experience in direct or indirect procurement.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end procurement processes, including sourcing, tendering and contract management.
• Good knowledge of procurement governance, compliance and policy requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to perform spend analysis and develop recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline (preferred).
• Experience with electronic procurement systems such as Ariba (preferred).
• Exposure to process improvement, automation or data‑driven initiatives (preferred).
