Assistant Manager, Transition & Integration

About the role

The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) supports students from admission to graduation, working with schools, colleges and autonomous institutes. This Assistant Manager position sits within the Student Affairs Office (SAO), which runs student-led activities, leadership development, residential life, integration efforts, community engagement, arts and sports. The role designs and delivers Transition and Integration initiatives: Transition helps students move through their university journey, while Integration supports a positive international student experience and social mixing between local and international students.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve initiatives supporting international students' transition across academic, social and cultural domains.
• Develop university-wide Integration initiatives such as buddy programmes, intercultural dialogues and community projects, and partner with schools, student organisations, residential halls and central offices to embed them.
• Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess Integration outcomes.
• Support the planning and execution of centralised Transition programmes for freshmen, and develop a Transition journey map for the first semester, including its dissemination and adoption.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on the wellbeing of S&T and ASEAN scholars, academic and co-curricular, and prepare university-wide reporting to MOE on Integration and scholar status.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience involving considerable interaction with students; tertiary education experience is advantageous.
• Experience in youth development and/or IHL orientation programmes and integration of international students.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management.
