Assistant Vice President, Credit Management

About the role

MUFG Bank is looking for an Assistant Vice President, Credit Management, based in its Singapore office. The role covers a portfolio of bank clients and reviews counterparty transaction proposals from the Business side, advising on risk appetite, due diligence, structuring, financial modelling and risk assessment. It is an important hire within ICD A&O and calls for someone who can take on a high level of responsibility with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate credit applications, internal ratings and transaction proposals for new or existing corporate clients in Asia and Oceania, challenging assumptions and conclusions where appropriate
• Engage with the Business on early-stage transactions, present views to ICD senior management and attend deal screening committees
• Work with senior colleagues to influence transaction structures and facility terms, and advise on risk appetite and due diligence
• Review term sheets, loan documentation and ISDA/CSA agreements, and flag material risks in the allocated portfolio
• Support new initiatives and assigned projects, including change initiatives aimed at improving efficiency

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of corporate credit experience in banking, focused on large corporate counterparties
• Experience covering the India corporate and leveraged finance market, which the role primarily supports
• Proven experience as a credit analyst preparing credit applications or a credit reviewer giving recommendations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships with the Business and stakeholders
• Resilient, able to handle peak workloads and tight deadlines
• Strong graduate or postgraduate academic record

Required skills

• Analysis of cashflow projections and in-depth review of financial statements
• Broad product knowledge of traditional lending, trade finance, acquisition finance, structured transactions and derivatives
• Understanding of sector risk dynamics and fundamentals
• Competent writing, producing clear credit applications and recommendations
