Associate Consultant - Menopause Care (Family Medicine/Internal Medicine)

About the role

The Associate Consultant provides specialised, holistic and comprehensive care for midlife women undergoing the menopausal transition. The post is within the Division of Benign Gynaecology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the SWANS Menopause Centre of Excellence, which offers one-stop, evidence-based, multidisciplinary care for menopausal symptoms, weight management and chronic disease. The role reports to the Head of the Division of Benign Gynaecology / SWANS Programme Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialised care for menopausal symptoms, weight management, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis and other chronic conditions.
• Lead outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary consultations and quality improvement initiatives supporting SWANS.
• Work with gynaecologists, mental health specialists, family medicine specialists, physiotherapists and dietitians to give integrated, patient-centred care.
• Consult the Head of Division / Programme Lead on complex cases such as iatrogenic menopause, high-risk patients and cancer-related menopausal symptoms.
• Take part in teaching, mentorship and research, including training junior staff, medical students and nurses, and contribute to programme development and evaluation.
• Keep up to date with menopausal hormone therapy and other evidence-based interventions.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent, with completion of relevant specialist training.
• Specialist qualification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, MRCP or equivalent accredited specialty.
• Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council preferred; conditional registration may be considered.
• Clinical experience in women's health and menopause care is desirable; equivalent specialist experience or training may be considered.
• Leadership competencies, including embracing change, leading, thinking strategically and training junior clinicians.
