Associate Director, Research & Analysis

About the role

The Associate Director, Research & Analysis will lead credit and risk assessment for a portfolio of institutional customers, including commercial real estate and commodity trading firms. Working closely with Relationship Bankers, Product Partners and Institutional Risk, you will help structure and execute transactions that support the bank’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality credit papers for new and existing clients to drive business growth.
• Structure deals, grade risk accurately, and maintain up‑to‑date customer data.
• Attend client meetings with Relationship Managers to understand business models and industry dynamics.
• Build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships to provide deep segment knowledge.
• Support strategy development for customer acquisition, new transactions and management of deteriorating credits.
• Deliver insightful analysis and risk assessments within approved risk parameters.
• Draft credit memoranda covering customer, industry and financial risks and mitigants.
• Act as first line of defence by adhering to internal credit policies and proactive risk management.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and data accuracy in systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit analysis, risk assessment and deal structuring within institutional banking.
• Strong understanding of commercial real‑estate and commodity‑trading sectors.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Relationship Managers, Product Specialists and risk teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing credit memoranda and presenting insights.
