Associate Heart Valve Specialist

About the role

Edwards is hiring an Associate Heart Valve Specialist who applies skill and dexterity in sewing tissue and non-tissue components used to make medical devices, in line with regulatory and company guidelines. The role involves sewing assembly of stents and valves.

Key responsibilities

• Use tools such as needles, scissors, forceps, specialized tooling, microscope, magnifying lamp and MES to carry out sewing steps in rotation
• Verify completed steps of stent and/or valve assembly against specifications
• Follow work instructions and SOPs, record traceable information on device history records, and enter data into JDE and other systems as required
• Clean and sanitize work stations at the start of each shift and when switching work orders
• Perform visual inspection under a microscope and review colleagues' work
• Carry out general housekeeping, sanitization with approved chemicals, material handling and printing

Required profile

• Secondary education; previous sewing, GMP, clean room or medical device experience preferred
• No previous related experience required
• Ability to read, comprehend and speak English, and good communication skills
• Team player who can follow detailed manufacturing instructions with minimal supervision
• Strict attention to detail and adherence to company rules, including pandemic protocols and environmental health and safety rules

Required skills

• Small hand tools and good hand-eye coordination
• Basic understanding of manufacturing procedures
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Successful completion of ongoing training on assembly steps
