Associate Nurse Manager

About the role

The Associate Nurse Manager (also referred to as Assistant Nurse Manager) supports the Nurse Manager in delivering high‑quality Home Personal Care (HPC) and Enhanced Home Personal Care (HPC+) services. This role blends hands‑on community nursing with team supervision and service coordination, ensuring safe, ethical, and person‑centred care for clients with complex, medical, and end‑of‑life needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight for HPC and HPC+ clients, including those with complex and end‑of‑life needs.
• Support care planning, clinical decision‑making, and escalation according to organisational protocols.
• Monitor care delivery and client outcomes to maintain safety, quality, and continuity.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Assist the Nurse Manager in supervising nursing staff, managing workloads, and upholding standards.
• Offer on‑the‑ground clinical support, coaching, and mentoring to nurses and care staff.
• Participate in competency assessments, onboarding, and training of nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and service providers to deliver integrated care.
• Contribute to quality improvement, audit, and service evaluation initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience providing direct nursing care to clients with complex and end‑of‑life needs in a community setting.
• Ability to supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff.
• Strong clinical decision‑making and escalation skills.
• Excellent documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
