AVP/VP Specialist – External Communications (Group Marketing)

About the role

The specialist will lead external communications for DBS, enhancing the bank’s corporate reputation through strategic storytelling, executive positioning and thought leadership. Working within the Group Marketing & Communications function, you will partner with senior leaders across the organisation to develop and amplify compelling corporate narratives that differentiate DBS in a competitive banking landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic communications, executive positioning and thought‑leadership initiatives that reinforce DBS’s brand and reputation.
• Support senior management and DBS spokespersons in media interviews, speaking engagements, panel discussions, conferences and authored content.
• Research and analyse macro trends, business developments and stakeholder issues, turning complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets, conference organisers, industry influencers and other institutional stakeholders to create reputation‑building opportunities.
• Monitor emerging issues and reputational risks, and contribute to incident and crisis communication responses.
• Leverage analytics, media intelligence and social‑listening tools to measure communication effectiveness and provide actionable insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, PPE, communications, journalism, economics, business or a related field (preferred).
• 8‑10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, preferably within financial services.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional writing and storytelling abilities.
• Proven experience supporting senior executives and managing high‑profile communications initiatives.
• Comfortable using emerging technologies, data and insights to enhance communications effectiveness.
• Positive, agile, resilient and collaborative attitude.
