Calibration Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Calibration Engineer in Singapore. The role owns and manages the end-to-end calibration program for all Singapore sites, keeping inspection, measurement and test equipment compliant with corporate procedures, quality system requirements and audit needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the IMTE inventory database, including equipment status, location, calibration schedules, records and traceability documentation.
• Coordinate calibration activities with internal stakeholders and external vendors so equipment is calibrated before due dates.
• Manage calibration service providers, including vendor qualification, performance monitoring, funding requirements and compliance with ISO 17025 and applicable standards.
• Review and maintain calibration certificates and records to meet corporate, customer, regulatory and audit requirements.
• Ensure calibrated equipment is identified, labelled, tracked and protected from unintended use when overdue, damaged, obsolete or with unknown status.
• Lead investigations and impact assessments for out-of-tolerance calibration events and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support internal, customer and external audits with records, traceability evidence, program metrics and process documentation.
• Establish and monitor calibration performance metrics, drive continuous improvement and optimize calibration processes.
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures, work instructions, forms and documentation.
• Train equipment owners, engineers, technicians and tool focal personnel on calibration requirements and best practices.
• Support new equipment introduction, transfers, asset changes and retirements within the calibration management system.
• Drive digitalization and automation initiatives to improve tracking, reporting, compliance monitoring and efficiency.
