Central Probe Planning Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Central Probe Planning Engineer (Global Planning Modeling Engineer) in its Operations Central Team. You will act as a central contact for the Manufacturing network, calculating and presenting the capital impacts of process changes to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D. You will also develop new tools to speed up, optimise and refine planning and reporting across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise the capacity of installed equipment and lead site and tool-level optimisation studies for efficiency improvement.
• Collaborate with partners to understand future tool and process roadmaps, and calculate the network capacity impact of process changes.
• Complete financial analysis before new capital equipment is purchased, covering metrics optimisation, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurposing.
• Verify the accuracy of capacity modelling to avoid surprises after the bottom-up estimation process.
• Balance minimising capital spend against maximising demand satisfaction.
• Manage and communicate improvement opportunities for existing constraints and drive implementation plans.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work, and share AI-enabled improvements with the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a business-related or quantitative field (finance, economics or similar); an MBA or master's degree is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor capacity planning.
• Experience turning complex problem statements into structured solutions in a multi-functional environment, and working independently with strong organisation.
• Experience in capacity analysis, business analysis or process analysis.
