Commissioning Engineer for Marine & Port Projects

About the role

ABB is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead and execute commissioning activities for marine and port automation projects across the ASEAN region. You will work on‑site, primarily at fabrication yards or project sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery in line with contractual, technical, and cybersecurity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and carry out commissioning for marine and port electrification, automation, and control system projects.
• Collaborate with site managers, project managers, contractors and customers to support installation, testing, and final acceptance.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, design updates and produce accurate as‑built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ABB safety, quality, cybersecurity and contractual requirements.
• Support customer acceptance testing, project close‑out and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in commissioning, field service, installation, testing or project execution within marine, port, industrial automation or power environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution, automation, control systems, drives and marine electrical systems.
• Proven ability to coordinate site activities with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
• Solid knowledge of HSE requirements and commitment to safety, quality and cybersecurity standards.
