Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Veolia, which designs, supplies and operates water systems from oil and gas to municipal water and industrial wastewater, is hiring a Commissioning Engineer in Singapore. The role reports directly to the Project Manager or Commissioning Manager and drives excellence in schedule, cost, quality and EHS.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure site commissioning guidelines are followed accurately and manage the compilation of commissioning SATs and certification plant prerequisites.
• Manage customer relationships for commissioning activities and review daily project reports, issues and progress.
• Support timely commissioning, SCADA/ICS and required testing, and reduce project costs through process changes and cost-out opportunities.
• Aim for zero punch list before client handover and drive performance across cost, schedule, technical advisory, EHS and quality.
• Lead and mentor direct reports or peers, coach team members, train client teams and assign site teams based on project needs.
• Liaise with project teams, service teams, contractors, clients and regional Project Managers, and handle project documentation covering EHS, quality, cost, continuous improvement and compliance.

Required profile

• University degree or certificate in engineering, or at least 10 years' proven experience in the water treatment field.
• Previous commissioning supervision experience in project execution.
• Ability to prioritise, organise work, meet deadlines and multitask with limited direction.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, customer focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in cross-functional, matrix teams and to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of water treatment systems and equipment: UF, RO, EDR, EDI, MBR, MABR, pumps, motors, FDA, filtration, UPW and chemical feed systems.
• Experience with water treatment equipment and analyzers.
• Ability to learn additional software such as PLC testing tools alongside Google Suite.
