Consulting Engineer

About the role

Cisco is hiring a Consulting Engineer in Singapore. The role focuses on customer engagement and experience: working closely with customers to create value, drive adoption and support renewals, while collaborating with Customer Success, Sales, Support and product and engineering teams. It also covers designing, deploying, optimizing, migrating and troubleshooting Cisco products and solutions, and creating customer-facing documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of advanced, multi-area solutions and advise on end-to-end solutions
• Build strong, trust-based customer relationships and align solutions with customer goals and lifecycles
• Use a consultative approach to secure next steps with customers and partners
• Review and approve designs and deliverables, including input to the customer's hardware and software roadmap
• Establish documentation best practices and develop technical designs, deployment guides and playbooks
• Integrate AI and automation into delivery, and use them to optimize workflows
• Build customer simulations, support escalations for complex issues, and educate stakeholders on innovations
• Mentor junior consulting engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience, or Master's with 4 years, or PhD with 1 year, or equivalent experience
• Professional networking certification (e.g. CCNP) or equivalent, plus a relevant DevOps or programmability certification (e.g. Cisco DevNet)
• Hands-on experience leading customer engagements across SD-WAN, Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Wireless, and troubleshooting Cisco solutions
• Experience developing technical designs, deployment guides and customer documentation, and mentoring junior engineers

Required skills

• Working knowledge of software programmability, automation, orchestration and AI-driven operations
• Knowledge of vendor and competitor products to ensure interoperability
