Contract Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail Singapore, which develops rail signalling and safety solutions, is hiring a Contract Manager (ref. R0142485) in Central Singapore. The role covers the full project cycle, from tender to post-contract, focusing on contractual review and advice to stakeholders, and works across several projects and bids.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Project Managers and Bid Managers on assigned projects and bids.
• Help manage claims (logs, gap identification), EOT, variations and monthly progress reports.
• Support the preparation and management of contract agreements, MOUs, NDAs and team agreements in line with company policy.
• Clarify ambiguities in bid, project and business agreements for bid and project teams.
• Monitor contract deliverables and project milestones to avoid delays and risks.
• Assist the Head of Contracts with projects, bids and procurement, and attend bids and project meetings.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Communication, Electronics, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in rail signalling, communications, security systems, building or civil projects preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in contract, claims and EOT management.
• Background in project commercials is a plus.
• Good communication in English and ability to work with colleagues in Singapore and across the SEA region.

Required skills

• Understanding of LTA, PSSCOC and FIDIC forms of contract is good to have.
• Familiarity with Singapore project terms and conditions.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to grasp complex technical concepts, write clear reports, plan work to deadlines and handle shareholders' expectations.
