Conventional Machinist Technician

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is looking for a Technician (Conventional Machinist) for its workshop in Loyang, Singapore. The role involves operating conventional machining equipment, performing repairs and quality checks on parts, and supporting the workshop team to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual lathes, boring machines, milling machines and EDM.
• Perform machining dimensional fits and clearance checks according to OEM technical manuals (CIR, MM, SPM).
• Carry out bench repair work such as blending, insert replacement and broken stud replacement.
• Interpret machining dimensions and understand requirements from technical drawings.
• Inspect work with conventional measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers and dial indicators to verify conformance to specifications.
• Assist the line supervisor in daily operations to achieve production targets, corporate goals and discipline.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Workshop Engineer or Manager.

Required profile

• At least GCE O'/'N' level or equivalent, with NITEC in Precision, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Prior experience in the aircraft engine industry is required.
• Able to work weekly rotating shifts.
• Machinist with conventional machining experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
