Data Automation & IT Specialist - Financial Services

About the role

A Japanese fund management organization, which has been named Most Consistent Asia-based Fund and Best Asia-based CTA/Managed Futures Fund three times in a row since 2016, is hiring a Data Automation & IT Specialist in Central, Singapore. The role combines data automation, project governance and full ownership of the firm's IT infrastructure, with a salary of SGD 4,000 to 6,000.

Key responsibilities

• Automate data-intensive processes and migrate manual Excel workflows into modern structures using Python and SQL
• Manage project backlogs, document technical requirements and track automation milestones
• Develop coding solutions, including GUI interfaces and SQL databases, for operations and trading tasks
• Upload datasets to Google Cloud Platform and refine workflows with BigQuery and Looker Studio
• Own the IT infrastructure: hardware lifecycle, office technology and network administration
• Liaise with external IT vendors for network, phone and security support, and provide L1/L2 support and device setup
• Support daily operations, including trade, position and cash reconciliations with Prime Brokers, NAV validation, P&L reconciliation and variance analysis
• Support corporate actions, income collection and FX hedging reconciliation

Required profile

• At least 2 to 5 years of experience in data management or investment fund buy-side systems support
• Proven project management experience and willingness to handle both hardware/network and software development tasks

Required skills

• High proficiency in Python and SQL (mandatory)
• Advanced Excel, VBA and Power Query
• Preferred: familiarity with GCP, BigQuery and Looker Studio or equivalent BI tools
