Data Center Technician

About the role

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT) you will learn standard processes for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of experienced colleagues. The role is part of Cloud Operations & Innovation, delivering core infrastructure for services such as Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive and Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to issue tracking by escalating, asking questions and seeking guidance from senior technicians.
• Participate in daily safety briefings, complete required safety training and follow safety procedures.
• Complete assigned tickets efficiently, meeting KPIs and Service Level Agreements.
• Comply with security and data‑management policies and complete required security training.
• Maintain a strong client focus and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
• Share information with the team, attend regular meetings and support a collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Completed high/secondary school, GED, apprenticeship/vocational qualification or equivalent experience with basic knowledge of computer hardware.
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks and meet Singapore citizenship or PR requirements.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Understanding of basic structured cabling (BSC) principles.
