Data Centre Operations Specialist

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring a Data Centre Operations Specialist in Singapore. The specialist handles day-to-day IT operations and data centre support, including system and batch monitoring, scheduled job execution, incident escalation, tape management, server tasks, remote hands support and operational reporting. The role relies on established work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP) and escalation processes to keep critical IT infrastructure running.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and run scheduled batch jobs, check for failures and escalate them
• Monitor infrastructure, systems, applications and backup alerts, and keep incident records
• Perform server health checks and OS patching for Windows and Linux, including monthly UAT and production patches
• Run scheduled mainframe IPLs and control mainframe service starts and stops
• Manage onsite and offsite backup media, tapes and tape inventory
• Handle scheduled production printing and dispatch of printed materials
• Provide remote hands and legs support, including equipment checks, cable verification and data centre access escorts
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports, including SLA and performance reports (uptime, power usage, temperature)
• Monitor email, incident tickets and service requests, and manage incident tickets
• Manage token, logbooks, security stickers and access cards, enable accounts, run night patrols and generate security reports

Required profile

• Diploma, NITEC/Higher NITEC or equivalent in IT, computer engineering, information systems or a related field
• Preferred: experience in a data centre, NOC, IT operations or command centre
• Able to follow detailed SOPs and work instructions, work independently after training and work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays

• Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, server infrastructure, batch processing, backup operations and data centres
