Data Engineer – AI Services & Automation

About the role

PebbleRoad, a Singapore‑based AI services company, is expanding its technology team. The Data Engineer will work on document‑centric and operational analytics, turning raw data into production‑ready AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse structured and unstructured datasets to uncover trends and actionable insights.
• Support the development, testing and evaluation of machine‑learning models for business problems.
• Perform data preparation tasks, including cleaning, transformation and feature engineering.
• Contribute to predictive and descriptive analytics that inform decision‑making.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, MLOps engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data‑driven solutions.
• Prepare reports, metrics and visualisations to clearly communicate findings.
• Continuously learn and apply new data‑science techniques, tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in Python (or R) for data analysis and modelling.
• Understanding of core machine‑learning concepts, both supervised and unsupervised.
• Experience working with SQL and common data‑manipulation libraries.
• Familiarity with scikit‑learn; exposure to TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Curiosity, initiative and a strong learning mindset.
