Data Project Manager – Lead Data & AI Initiatives

About the role

Encora is looking for an experienced Data Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end delivery of data and analytics initiatives in Singapore. The role bridges business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring projects are on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives. A strong background in Google Cloud Platform and emerging AI technologies is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, scope, allocate resources, execute, and close data‑focused projects from inception to delivery.
• Define timelines, milestones, deliverables and monitor budget adherence.
• Estimate effort for data engineering, analytics, AI and platform work to support accurate planning.
• Collaborate with architects and solution teams to shape technical scope that meets business goals.
• Act as primary liaison between business owners and technical teams, translating requirements into scalable solutions.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and scope changes while providing regular status updates to senior leadership.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including Data Engineers, Analysts, Scientists, ML Engineers and Architects.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives and release planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end data, analytics or AI projects.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform data services and modern cloud data architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with data engineering, ETL, data warehousing and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, Agentic AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions in an enterprise context.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, Cloud Composer.
• Project management tools – Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (or equivalents).
• Agile/Scrum methodology for managing cross‑functional technical teams.
