Data Quality Analyst – Financial Data

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to ensure accurate, timely delivery of complex financial data across its product ecosystem. You will work with credit risk models, data pipelines, and client‑facing platforms, supporting both existing and prospective clients.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and test data pipeline and content issues to guarantee data quality.
• Support and resolve data‑quality and delivery issues for credit risk models.
• Fulfill data delivery requests and respond to client queries promptly.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Customer Success, and Product teams to monitor and improve data pipelines.
• Analyze and resolve issues from external data providers and evaluate new data sources.
• Produce BI reports that highlight data characteristics, trends, and issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field; graduate degree is a plus.
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience or strong academic background.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL and database tools (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Scripting with Python; familiarity with R is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services (Athena, S3, Glue) and ETL tools (Airflow, SSIS, Step Functions).
• Data modeling, query optimization, and data mining.
• Advanced Excel and exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, QuickSight).
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in responsible AI practices.
