Data Scientist - Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Micron is hiring a Data Scientist to support its Process Integration and Process Engineering teams in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. You will use mathematics, statistics and information technology to uncover patterns in data, build predictive models and develop solutions that improve product yield and reduce process variation. The role works closely with multi-functional process areas to solve manufacturing line problems and root cause analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze inline, parametric and probe data with engineering teams to identify yield detractors and drive continuous improvement.
• Extract, cleanse and analyse datasets from SQL databases, sensor networks and fabrication tool logs.
• Apply data science, statistical modelling and machine learning to solve yield issues and support defect reduction.
• Support process and integration engineers in running and analysing Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Build automated reports and dashboards with tools such as Dash, Plotly and Angular.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI or a related engineering field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics or scripting applications.
• Willingness to learn semiconductor manufacturing principles and work with equipment and integration engineers.
• Preferred: semiconductor industry experience, basic knowledge of fabrication processes and device physics, and knowledge of DRAM/NAND memory architecture.

Required skills

• Strong Python and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Familiarity with statistical methods such as SPC, DOE and FDC/EDA.
• At least 2 years of experience with data visualization tools (Dash, Plotly, Angular).
• Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.
