Deputy Director, Finance

About the role

The Deputy Director, Finance supports the Director in ensuring robust financial governance while enhancing the organisation's planning, reporting and performance insight capabilities. This senior position oversees core financial controls and expands into budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and finance business partnering.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting across entities and funds, ensuring consistency, compliance and timely month‑end / year‑end close.
• Strengthen internal controls, manage audit processes and resolve audit observations.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast reviews, aligning workplans with resource allocation.
• Oversee core finance operations including payments, vendor governance and financial administration controls.
• Drive finance systems initiatives, such as upgrades, implementations, UAT coordination and reporting enhancements.
• Provide finance advisory and business partnering to departments on budgets, proposals and key initiatives.
• Guide and supervise finance staff across workstreams, ensuring quality and accountability.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline.
• Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• 10‑15 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, finance business partnering or controllership.
• Strong grounding in financial controls, reporting and performance analysis.
• Experience preparing reports or analyses for senior‑management decision‑making.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder‑management and communication skills.
• Experience with finance systems, reporting tools or dashboards is an advantage.
