Deputy Director – Finance (Partners Division)

About the role

The Deputy Director, Finance will lead the Partners Division finance team, ensuring robust financial stewardship and alignment with government policies. This senior position drives budgeting, reporting and digital transformation initiatives across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and evaluate a finance team to meet budgetary and performance targets.
• Develop and enforce financial and budgetary control policies in line with government regulations.
• Oversee preparation, analysis and compliance of financial reports, forecasts and budgets.
• Drive system testing, enhancements, integration projects and strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align budgetary objectives and support whole‑of‑government digital finance roadmap.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in financial management or budgeting, with team supervision.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting processes and financial analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software, spreadsheet applications and data management systems.
• Analytical mindset with expertise in data analytics and visualisation.
• Experience in governance, risk management and business transformation initiatives.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.
