Deputy/Assistant Director, AI Capability Development (3-Year Contract)

About the role

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) works with financial institutions, AI firms, FinTechs, technology providers, academia and public-sector partners to build the capabilities, partnerships and frameworks needed for responsible AI adoption in finance. Within MAS, the Financial Infrastructure & Artificial Intelligence Office (FIA) leads AI-related initiatives. This 3-year contract role strengthens AI capabilities and adoption across Singapore's financial sector by working closely with financial institutions to understand how AI is deployed, identify barriers to adoption and shape MAS's response.

Key responsibilities

• Shape strategies to strengthen AI capabilities and adoption across the financial sector
• Work with financial institutions and industry stakeholders to develop initiatives supporting industry transformation
• Improve the enabling environment for responsible AI adoption
• Drive MAS's approach to supporting AI capability development and adoption
• Monitor AI adoption trends, implementation experience and emerging challenges to inform MAS's strategies

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting, industry development, innovation, business transformation, public policy, regulation, supervision, compliance or risk management within financial services or the public sector
• Strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges of AI adoption in financial institutions
• Understanding of how regulatory, supervisory, governance and compliance considerations affect AI deployment
• Ability to identify industry-wide challenges and develop practical recommendations
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including preparing strategy papers, briefing notes and presentations for senior management
