Design and Technology Teacher (IB/IGCSE)

About the role

The school seeks an enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to deliver IGCSE and IBDP Design Technology (Graphics Products) as well as Computer Science. You will guide students in both theoretical concepts and hands‑on projects, fostering creativity, technical competence and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Teach core design elements such as line, shape, form, colour and typography.
• Instruct drawing techniques including freehand, isometric, orthographic and perspective.
• Demonstrate graphic material processes – printing, cutting, binding and packaging.
• Operate and teach use of workshop equipment (scroll saw, band saw, vacuum former, acrylic bender, wood/plastic joining tools).
• Integrate ICT and CAD/CAM tools (Fusion 360, Inkscape) and manage 3D printers and laser cutters.
• Oversee coursework projects, monitor progress and provide feedback (50% of assessment).
• Deliver Computer Science curriculum at middle and IGCSE levels using Python, Java, Scratch and HTML.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification or proven experience in secondary education.
• Ability to teach both Design Technology and Computer Science.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for student development.
