Die Design Engineer

About the role

The Die Design Engineer will lead and participate in the full lifecycle of die design, from concept through to delivery, delivering cost‑effective solutions for technical challenges. You will work closely with product designers, procurement, stamping teams and external vendors to ensure successful project launches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of dies from concept to production, providing effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product designers, procurement, stamping, and vendors to meet launch objectives.
• Define scope of work and develop design philosophies based on product requirements.
• Prepare ball‑park quotes and schedules for manufacturing during project launches.
• Highlight design issues during design reviews and FMEAs, and conduct tooling design reviews.
• Design and develop tooling for new product launches, ramp‑ups, and first‑article (FA) closures.
• Work closely with toolmakers on first‑article testing and die qualification.
• Coordinate with external vendors for design reviews, schedules, specifications, and technical issue resolution.
• Drive new technologies and methodologies to reduce lead time, cost, and improve quality.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in die debugging, fabrication, and progressive die building.
• 3‑5 years of experience in the tool and die industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Experience using Siemens NX.
