About the role
The Director, HR Partnering will shape the future of human resources at a leading university. Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, this senior leader will guide a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic HR initiatives that empower staff, strengthen culture, and support the university’s mission.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the university’s vision and objectives.
- Partner with the CHRO to define HR priorities and lead enterprise‑wide initiatives.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of HR Business Partners.
- Build strong relationships with university leadership, act as a trusted advisor, and drive employee engagement.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence to ensure timely recruitment of talent.
- Champion organisational excellence, job redesign and resource optimisation through transformative HR projects.
- Review and refine HR policies and procedures for Faculty and Research Schemes, recommending improvements to professional HR services.
Required profile
- Minimum 20 years of HR experience, including at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of the full HR spectrum and proven ability to lead strategic initiatives.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach and influence without authority.
- Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can anticipate future needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, building trust across diverse stakeholders.
- Resourceful, pragmatic and solutions‑oriented mindset.
Required skills
- Solid understanding of the Employment Act and Labour Laws.
