Director of Investigations – APJ

About the role

The Director of Investigations (APJ) will lead complex internal and external investigations into alleged violations of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Standards of Business Conduct. Reporting to the Vice President of Investigations in the Ethics & Compliance Office, you will manage a cross‑functional team of lawyers, investigators and audit professionals across the Asia‑Pacific‑Japan region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee high‑profile investigations related to the global SBC program.
• Identify, analyze and resolve intricate legal issues, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Draft comprehensive investigation reports for executive review and law‑enforcement engagement.
• Deliver investigation outcomes within program timelines and goals.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team of experts, ensuring efficient and thorough investigative processes.
• Represent HPE before industry policy bodies, government agencies and regulatory organizations as needed.
• Travel occasionally within the APJ region and potentially beyond, sometimes on short notice.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in law (JD, LLB or equivalent).
• 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm, government, or in‑house setting.
• Proven ability to manage complex investigations under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, independence and ethical decision‑making.
