Director, Tax

About the role

DayOne is seeking a Director of Tax to provide strategic tax leadership across its rapidly expanding footprint in APAC and Europe. This senior position will shape the company’s tax strategy, ensure compliance, and support long‑term growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Manage external tax advisors and oversee group tax compliance, including review and preparation of tax returns.
• Research, design and implement tax strategies aligned with operational needs and corporate objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to assess and communicate tax impacts of new initiatives.
• Coordinate and prepare transfer pricing documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain tax structures that support market entry and expansion.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise senior leadership on implications.
• Review financial reports, monitor trends and ensure accurate tax provisioning while optimizing positions.
• Conduct global tax research, including treaty interpretation and analysis of international tax rates.
• Support short‑ and long‑term global tax planning tied to the company’s 3–5‑year expansion goals.
• Leverage a network of regional tax specialists to address group tax matters and handle ad‑hoc assignments.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent), preferably with Big 4 experience.
• Minimum 5 + years of regional tax experience, ideally in real estate or data‑centre environments.
• Strong technical tax knowledge with ability to resolve complex tax and accounting issues.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
