Division Head, AI Risk Management Supervision

About the role

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is recruiting a Division Head for its AI Risk Management Supervision unit, which reports to Banking Department II. The role provides strategic direction and leads a team of supervisors focused on supervising AI risk management in the financial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of supervisory frameworks and approaches for AI risk management.
• Work on broad and technical policy and regulatory issues across the finance sector relating to all aspects of AI.
• Coordinate with whole-of-government agencies on AI-related matters affecting the financial sector.
• Contribute to standards-setting work at international bodies and to the broader MAS strategy on AI in finance.
• Drive research and analysis on emerging AI trends, risks and mitigation techniques relevant to finance.
• Manage team resources, project timelines and deliverables.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in AI governance, AI risk management and/or AI implementation in the financial sector.
• Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles for financial institutions; experience with financial regulation or supervision is valued.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and complex projects.
• Deep understanding of AI, machine learning and data science, with a strong interest in keeping up with rapidly evolving AI technologies and regulatory landscapes.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant advanced degree in AI, computer science, data science, finance or another highly quantitative field.
