Electrical / Hardware Engineer (R&D Hardware Design)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Networking is looking for an R&D Hardware Design Engineer to join its high-speed digital circuit design team, developing next-generation networking platforms. The role is designed as onsite, with the expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced hardware platforms, from component selection and schematic design through board bring-up, debugging and validation.
• Work hands-on with complex, high-speed digital designs that push performance and reliability boundaries.
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to integrate hardware deliverables and move products from concept to production.
• Perform feasibility studies, design margin analysis and validation planning to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Run empirical testing and root-cause analysis on new and evolving hardware to meet quality and performance goals.
• Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners, including driving Joint Development Model (JDM) engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in systems and hardware design, including integrated circuits and complex electronic systems such as servers, mobile devices or similar platforms.
• Mandarin language at business level is a requirement.
• Preferred: strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and excellent written and verbal communication, including reading and explaining engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Required skills

• Digital and analog circuit design, with solid knowledge of high-speed design concepts, signal integrity and power distribution.
• Board-level design using Cadence tools such as OrCAD and Allegro.
• Programming and scripting in Python, Perl and MATLAB.
• Experience measuring, testing and characterizing high-speed digital signals.
