Electroplating Scientist – R&D & Manufacturing

About the role
We are seeking an Electroplating Scientist to lead the development, optimisation and sustainment of advanced electroplating processes for semiconductor devices. The role spans both research‑and‑development and small‑volume manufacturing, supporting technology road‑maps and product requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimise electroplating processes such as Cu TSV, Damascene, RDL, Pillar, UBM and micro‑bump.
- Conduct process characterisation, qualification and continuous improvement to meet manufacturing targets.
- Troubleshoot defects (voids, roughness, non‑uniformity, adhesion) using root‑cause analysis and data‑driven methods.
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to define process windows and evaluate new chemistries and materials.
- Analyse experimental data to produce process specifications, control plans and technical recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and documentation for internal stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, scientists, process integrators and cross‑functional teams.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or related field (Master’s with relevant industry experience may be considered).
- Strong fundamental knowledge of electrochemistry, surface science, materials characterisation and process development.
- Experience with semiconductor electroplating processes and wet‑chemical processing is highly desirable.
- Hands‑on experience in cleanroom wafer‑level processing and handling.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
