Elementary Classroom Teacher

About the role

The Australian International School is seeking an enthusiastic Elementary Classroom Teacher to join its vibrant learning community. This full‑time position starts in January 2027 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a supportive, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for elementary students in line with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) where applicable.
• Participate in school functions, meetings, events and professional development days, both during and outside regular school hours.
• Collaborate with Heads of Year, Assistant Heads, and other senior staff to support the school’s educational vision.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by senior leadership, contributing to the overall wellbeing and progress of the school community.

Required profile

• A minimum four‑year recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor’s Degree with a Teaching Diploma or a Bachelor of Education.
• Experience working within the structures of a large school setting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the IB PYP and restorative practices is preferred.
• Commitment to a holistic approach to education and safeguarding of children.
