Equipment Engineer – CMP Tools

About the role

STMicroelectronics is seeking an Equipment Engineer specialized in Chemical Mechanical Planarisation (CMP) tools. You will own a defined set of CMP equipment, drive performance improvements, and support the manufacturing process in a fast‑paced semiconductor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of CMP tools, monitor OEE and uptime, and implement actions to increase availability.
• Analyse alarms and chronic issues, develop corrective and preventive actions, and define preventive‑maintenance (PM) plans and spare‑parts strategies.
• Support technicians in complex troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, robotics and software domains; coordinate advanced support with equipment vendors.
• Participate in specification, selection, installation, qualification and release of new CMP equipment, including upgrades and retrofits.
• Collaborate with process engineers to ensure equipment meets process requirements, support yield and quality investigations, and maintain compliance with standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Analyse data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks, lead Lean/Six‑Sigma/SMED projects, and standardise procedures and documentation.
• Ensure strict adherence to EHS rules, conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and maintain environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain equipment documentation, train maintenance technicians, and manage knowledge transfer.
