About the role
STMicroelectronics is seeking an Equipment Engineer specialized in Chemical Mechanical Planarisation (CMP) tools. You will own a defined set of CMP equipment, drive performance improvements, and support the manufacturing process in a fast‑paced semiconductor environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of CMP tools, monitor OEE and uptime, and implement actions to increase availability.
- Analyse alarms and chronic issues, develop corrective and preventive actions, and define preventive‑maintenance (PM) plans and spare‑parts strategies.
- Support technicians in complex troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, robotics and software domains; coordinate advanced support with equipment vendors.
- Participate in specification, selection, installation, qualification and release of new CMP equipment, including upgrades and retrofits.
- Collaborate with process engineers to ensure equipment meets process requirements, support yield and quality investigations, and maintain compliance with standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Analyse data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks, lead Lean/Six‑Sigma/SMED projects, and standardise procedures and documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS rules, conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and maintain environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Create and maintain equipment documentation, train maintenance technicians, and manage knowledge transfer.
Required profile
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work autonomously and coordinate with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.
- Excellent communication skills for documentation, training and reporting.
