Equipment Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of plant and terminal equipment by promptly handling breakdowns, performing routine maintenance, and supporting corrective and preventive maintenance activities. The role works closely with the engineering team and monitors critical control systems to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Execute daily maintenance tasks in line with safety regulations and vessel schedules.
• Create and close work orders in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system for every job.
• Monitor SCADA systems from the Central Control Room for the T1 and T2 cement terminals and the RMC Eco‑plant.
• Assist engineers with inspection, commissioning and troubleshooting of new equipment.
• Support the Corrective & Preventive Maintenance Section on specific projects as required.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Port Equipment Technology or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in seaport cargo‑handling maintenance or related industrial environments.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to on‑call requests promptly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Understanding of AC/DC motors, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to install and maintain electrical circuitry and equipment up to 415 V.
• Experience with SCADA monitoring and Enterprise Asset Management work order creation.
