Evacuation Slide Packer

About the role

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is looking for an Evacuation Slide Packer to work onsite at its Changi facility. You will assemble, handle, fold, pack and test inflatable evacuation slides according to the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) requirements, in a dynamic, physically demanding team environment focused on quality, safety and output.

Key responsibilities

• Perform work at cell level to meet the production schedule.
• Inspect and assemble sub-components and perform final testing in line with CMM requirements.
• Handle dangerous goods components following strict safety procedures.
• Fold and pack inflatables according to CMM and Packing Instructions.
• Resolve issues promptly and keep repair cost estimates accurate.
• Work closely with supervisors and support staff to solve problems.
• Follow the Quality Management System (AS9110C / Airworthiness Part 145).
• Use common measuring tools such as torque wrench, calipers, micrometers, bore and depth gauges.
• Comply with EHS policies, US and Singapore export control regulations, and take part in process improvement and EHS activities.

Required profile

• Minimum GCE "O" Level, ITE/NITEC in mechanical, mechatronic or another engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in slide packing is an advantage; candidates with no prior aviation experience are welcome as training is provided.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, and to read technical manuals, drawings and specifications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Able and willing to carry out physically demanding work.
• Understanding of knot tying and fabric folding methods.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy; knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical orders and written instructions.
