Executive Director, International Legal & Compliance

About the role

Lead the highest‑level legal and compliance matters for a global life‑science company, shaping strategy, managing risk and enabling growth across international markets. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will guide complex decisions with confidence and integrity while representing the International Legal & Compliance function.

Key responsibilities

• Support the VP, IL&C in coordinating legal and compliance advice for global initiatives, providing strategic oversight and risk‑based recommendations.
• Advise on strategic commercial initiatives, new product launches and higher‑risk activities such as patient programs, ensuring compliance with anti‑bribery, antitrust and other regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal and compliance guidance to global business teams—including Marketing, Research, Communications and Market Access—on ex‑US initiatives and activities.
• Partner with Ethics & Compliance, Global Investigations and other functions to develop, implement and oversee global compliance programs for international markets.
• Support HQ compliance initiatives, including guidance on international congresses, local meetings and Global Medical & Scientific Affairs activities outside the United States.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree, admitted to the bar in Singapore or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Minimum 15 years of legal and compliance experience in a major law firm serving life‑science clients or in a multinational life‑science legal/compliance department.
• Extensive experience advising ex‑US life‑science businesses and working across mature, developing and higher‑risk international markets.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, competition law, FCPA/anti‑corruption statutes, data‑privacy, advertising and labor laws.
• Proven enterprise leadership ability to lead remote, cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders globally.
