Executive Director of Investments

About the role

The Executive Director of Investments will steer the organisation’s financial stewardship across a diverse portfolio of businesses and social enterprises. Reporting to senior leadership, you will design and execute investment strategies that generate commercial value while advancing the company’s social mission.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior leaders to develop forward‑thinking investment strategies aligned with group objectives.
• Optimize capital flows, ensure robust risk mitigation, and uphold high standards of corporate governance.
• Lead negotiations and due‑diligence for major deals, covering finance, legal, ESG, and other dimensions.
• Assess asset health and new investment opportunities against mission, risk appetite, and sustainability goals.
• Structure internal funding mechanisms and capital protection frameworks to support fiscal stability.
• Oversee the Finance Department in budgeting, forecasting, regulatory filings, and reporting.
• Monitor shareholder agreements and inter‑entity funding arrangements.
• Present financial results, strategic milestones, and compliance updates to senior management and the Board of Trustees.
• Maintain ultimate accountability for enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven progressive leadership experience in large‑scale finance environments, preferably corporate finance.
• Strong track record of managing complex investment portfolios and cross‑entity capital allocation.
• Deep understanding of risk management, ESG considerations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills for board‑level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
