Facilities Tool Install Technician

About the role

Micron is hiring a Facilities Tool Install Technician for its Fab 10A facility. The technician takes part in manufacturing tool installation and in routine and non-routine maintenance of process tools, as well as the cleanroom preventive and corrective maintenance programme. The role involves coordinating with contractors on the ground, performing utilities turn-on after installation, and carrying out all work according to site procedures and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with tool-install contractors to carry out equipment hook-up for new, converted, unhooked and relocated tools, meeting quality standards, schedule and budget.
• Work with the equipment owner to release utilities on schedule and update tool release status.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures, including risk assessment, safe work procedures and the permit-to-work system.
• Take part in safety discussions, training and safe work practices, and hold regular area walks to improve safety, cleanliness and efficiency.
• Communicate regularly with peers and vendors, keep the supervisor informed of progress and abnormalities, and highlight discrepancies in drawings.
• Prioritise tasks to meet schedule and expectations with minimal guidance.
• Troubleshoot tool-related utilities and cleanroom systems, turn on utilities after installation, and test and balance exhaust systems when needed.
• Measure utilities for tool consumption, track and display data accurately, and follow Facilities discipline procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering.
• Semiconductor and cleanroom experience.
• A background in facilities or wafer fab manufacturing equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and to contribute to continuous improvement.
