Field Service IT Technician

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Field Service Technician in Fab 10A. You will classify customer-reported problems using sub-resolution, system and keyword data, meet case-priority timelines, and identify and monitor recurring issues to report them to the Engineering group. You will also repair and provide preventative maintenance of personal computers and related systems to keep the desktop environment compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Meet timelines according to priority: Priority 1 (contact immediately), Priority 2 (within 1 hour, start within 2 hours), Priority 3 (within 12 hours, start within 24 hours).
• Keep customers and colleagues informed of incident status with detailed daily incident documentation.
• Update and refer to the Worldwide Knowledgebase and the Field Services Best Practice Library, reading technical articles on common fixes and bugs.
• Support uptime targets by classifying workstations by managed level, PC type, Windows patch level and anti-virus status.
• Perform installations, upgrades and backups of software and hardware applications.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems affecting PCs.
• Provide high-level customer service.

Required profile

• Diploma in Information Technology (IT).
• Prior experience is an advantage.
• Permanent day-shift schedule (8:00am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday), with support for alternative shifts based on business needs.
