Finance Business Partner Manager

About the role

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) builds finance partnerships with stakeholders across a university unit or group of units, enabling effective finance planning, reporting and operations in line with university policy. The role plans and executes finance initiatives and targets, covers financial planning, budget monitoring and reporting, governance and compliance, and coordinates related operational activities. It reports primarily to the Office of Finance and secondarily to the university unit.

Key responsibilities

• Align financial activities with the School's strategy and priorities, and act as a trusted financial advisor to senior management on strategic and operational changes
• Provide decision-support analyses with real-time financial information (endowment, expenditure and budget utilization reports) and recommend actions to School management and finance stakeholders
• Drive end-to-end financial and budget planning and variance analysis, monitor external factors affecting the School's finances and support change initiatives and process improvements
• Recommend process improvements and identify cost-saving opportunities, advising faculty, principal investigators and managers on asset protection and compliance with policies and regulations
• Advise finance office holders on the implications of financial, statutory and regulatory reporting
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, support audit reviews and carry out audit remedial actions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accountancy
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• CPA preferred
