Financial Products Intern (May-Aug/Dec 2027)

About the role

Funding Societies | Modalku, the largest SME digital finance platform in Southeast Asia, is looking for a dynamic undergraduate intern (Polytechnic or university) to join its Financial Products team, which specialises in SME lending solutions. The internship gives hands-on experience in fintech, commercial banking, risk management and the end-to-end lifecycle of lending products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing and optimising lending products and programmes
• Analyse market trends, customer feedback and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities
• Work with Sales, Credit, Operations, Data and Risk teams to deliver products smoothly
• Help create and maintain product documentation such as specifications, business initiatives and implementation plans
• Improve the customer journey by finding and fixing pain points in the lending process
• Monitor product performance by analysing key metrics and preparing reports
• Use data analytics to optimise processes and support strategic decisions
• Collect, clean and transform datasets with SQL, Snowflake and Qlik, then interpret them and share findings with stakeholders

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Analytics, Data Science, Computing, Information Systems or a similar field
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Career interest in financial services, banking, fintech or product management
• Nice to have: familiarity with SME businesses in Southeast Asia and SME financing concepts

Required skills

• Data analysis tools such as Qlik, Power BI, Tableau or Excel
• Software and coding skills such as Figma, Snowflake, Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, R and Excel VBA
