Firmware Engineer – Embedded Systems (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to design and develop firmware for the Micro800 PLC family. The role involves implementing embedded firmware using IAR Embedded Workbench, debugging with JTAG and other tools, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams in Singapore and Bangalore.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware for Micro800 PLCs.
• Implement embedded code using IAR Embedded Workbench and perform hardware debugging (JTAG, etc.).
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, system test and product management teams across Singapore and Bangalore.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement and daily stand‑ups.
• Conduct technical investigations, root‑cause analysis and systematic verification of firmware issues.
• Maintain high‑quality engineering documentation, including design specifications and interface definitions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded firmware/software product development.
• Experience in industrial automation is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in C programming; C++ required.
• Hands‑on experience with STM32 or similar 32‑bit MCU architectures and low‑level driver development.
• Experience developing with RTOS such as VxWorks, Quadros, ThreadX or similar.
